Whether Victorian or Queen Anne, American Foursquare or Bungalow style, porches are one of the most prominent, character-defining features of any house. We will review the evolution of the American porch, architectural styles, and components. We will also look at common construction and deterioration issues with the expertise of contractor Patrick Roberts of Wood.Metal.Art.

Time and weather permitting, we’ll walk into the adjacent & beautiful historic Victorian Village and The Circles neighborhoods to look at examples and porches in progress.

This free workshop is made possible by Columbus Landmarks Home Preservation Program which connects homeowners with resources to help renovate and preserve older homes. Support for the program comes from the City of Columbus and the Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing.
