Fort HayesAre you a direct family member of a Franklin County Veteran who died in the First World War?

Fort Hayes Arts & Academic High School is looking for the living family member(s) of Franklin County soldiers, sailors, marines, or airmen who died in World War I.  The students of Fort Hayes Metropolitan Education Center have been creating a memorial to those men who might have come through Fort Hayes with the United States Infantry. Many are listed on a proposed memorial plaque (1919) that honored their service. However, we are also seeking the additional names found in List of Mothers and Widows of American Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines Entitled to Make a Pilgrimage to the War Cemeteries in Europe (1930). It is hoped that their memory and their family would be honored at “Their Walk, Our Walk” a Reception at Fort Hayes on Friday, April 15 from 1-3 p.m.
