The Ohio Senate proposed a two-year suspension of the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit, among other changes to the 2015-2017 State Budget. This suspension would be devastating for revitalization efforts and historic preservation throughout the state. On June 11, the Senate Democratic Caucus submitted an amendment to the state budget to restore the Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit.

In Columbus, the following important preservation projects have benefited or are currently benefiting from Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credits: The LeVeque Tower, The Atlas Building, YWCA, Cristo Rey Columbus High School, The Julian, Grant Commons, and Victorian Heritage, among others.
