2016 James. B. Recchie Design Award Winner – Columbus Museum of Art

The James B. Recchie Design Award honors excellence in urban design that can be reflected in historic or new buildings and places, additions to existing buildings, parks, public spaces and public art. The award celebrates projects that add to the distinctive character and improved quality of life of Columbus and the designers, architects, landscape architects, developers, builders and owners responsible for them.

Nominations for the 2017 James B. Recchie Design Award are encouraged from the public and are OPEN until July 10, 2017.

 

Following the public nomination period, a 12-member Screening Committee will review and determine the award finalists. 2017 Jurors Donna Laidlaw, Past Columbus Landmarks President; David Meleca, FAIA, David B. Meleca Architects, LLC; and Keith Myers, FASLA, Ohio State Planning and Real Estate, will make site visits and determine the winner. The Award will be bestowed at a Program & Reception on Thursday, October 5 at the Columbus Museum of Art, winner of the 2016 James B. Recchie Design Award.

The award is given in honor of the late James B. Recchie, a founding trustee of Columbus Landmarks Foundation. It honors excellence in urban design that can be reflected in historic or new buildings and places, additions to existing buildings, parks, public spaces and public art. The award celebrates projects that add to the distinctive character and improved quality of life of Columbus and the designers responsible for them.
