The 2017 Most Endangered Buildings List will be announced at our Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 11 at Cristo Rey Columbus High School!

Columbus Landmarks announced the 2016 Most Endangered Buildings List at its May 12 Annual Meeting. Thirteen buildings are included on the list. The purpose of the list is to create awareness of our city’s architectural heritage at risk of demolition, destruction or irreparable damage. These historic buildings and sites contribute not only to Columbus history, but also to the character of the community. The buildings were identified and nominated by the public, screened and selected by Columbus Landmarks Advocacy Committee, and approved by its Board of Trustees. The list provides the organization with a priority work list for its efforts and help maintain the spotlight on the most threatened structures.

Of the 14 Buildings on the 2015 list, one is slated for demolition (Trott & Bean Architects, Inc.); three are being saved (Franklin Park Medical Center, East Pilgrim Elementary School and Salzgaber Farmhouse) and ten are “pending” and were nominated and screened for the 2016 Most Endangered Buildings List.
