I used to go to the building in the 80s and 90s, it still had a bar in it, I wondered why the building was so big, never had any idea at the time, how historic it was and it was in the Greenbook, didn’t know it was a hotel, just wondered about the building, I had a feeling when I was in there though that there was a history, and I think some spirits, it felt strange, errie inside.
This was one of the only places that black could stay will traveling across this country. It was listed in the Green Book.

I used play there on Sunday night with Jazz Organist Alvin Valentine. It was a great venue
